Welcome!

 This is

New South Wales Government Railway (NSWGR) Trikes.

My name is Albert Melchert.  I am creating this site to share information and my experiences with this hobby, pastime ...Addiction? With my Father, we own a number of Trikes of which can be seen in “Our Collection”. Some have been restored to full working order others are on the to do list.

Without Dad I wouldn't be in this hobby. Together we learnt everything ourselves over the years, knowing absolutely nothing about Trikes back in 1988. Having driven and worked on nearly all types since then we can answer most questions related to NSWGR Trikes.

So please have a look around.

The info and pictures on here are from our own research and experiences, otherwise noted.

Trikes are what section cars, speeders, quads, gang cars, inspection vehicles,

are referred to in NSW. Used for work gangs to inspect and/or repair the permanent way. Almost every major station outside the Sydney metro had a track gang looking after their allocated section.
