Our fourth Trike, Ways and Works 60/161. A T.I.C, built in the Goulburn Railway Workshops.

60/161 originally came out of Parkes, it was bought by my Uncle back in 1989. 60/161 didn’t do to many trips to Blayney, many people didn't like driving it, it felt harsh and noisy compared to the Wickham and VW. However it did many laps on the “internal” Track at the Caravan City.

2002 saw 60/161 sold to a collector at the GCHR. He removed the cabin to reduce wind drag and weight when towing it on his trailer. It was in casual conversation that I said I wish I had a TIC, he said make an offer, and so it was mine Muwahaha…        a-hem. Once we got it home, work began.

It was stripped only to reveal a cracked chassis rail, not really a big problem though. New tin was applied to the shield frame, a wire brush on a angle grinder took the paint off. Being all steel it was very easy to paint. The only mechanical work on it was the clutch plates. I got hold of 2 other complete clutch sets and made one of the 3.

60/161 was the first trike we really got stuck into to restore. The others were more of a renovation paint over the old paint sort of thing when we got them.

We got 60/161 at the time the liability insurance for the GCHR expired so it has been sitting idle since.

CURRENT STATUS:   Fully operational. Collecting dust.
